The Super Bowl is one of the most exciting events of the year, bringing together friends, family, and fans to enjoy the game, halftime show, and, of course, the commercials. Whether you're hosting a party or heading out to celebrate, safety should be a top priority. Follow these essential Super Bowl safety tips to ensure a fun and secure game day experience.

Home & Party Safety

Secure Your Home

If you're leaving home to attend a party or watch the game at a venue, make sure your house is locked and secure. Keep valuables out of sight and ensure that security systems are activated to prevent break-ins.

Prevent Fire Hazards

With food cooking in the kitchen and potential decorations around, it's important to be mindful of fire safety. Keep flammable materials away from open flames, don’t leave the stove unattended, and ensure smoke detectors are working properly.

Pet Safety

Loud noises, large crowds, and new people can stress pets. Set up a quiet, comfortable space for them away from the party to reduce anxiety and prevent any unexpected accidents.

Food & Beverage Safety

Handle Food Properly

Food borne illnesses can quickly ruin game day. Keep perishable foods at the right temperatures—hot foods should stay above 140°F, while cold foods should be kept below 40°F. Don’t leave food sitting out for more than two hours.

Encourage Responsible Drinking

If alcohol is part of the celebration, make sure guests drink responsibly. Offer plenty of non-alcoholic beverage options, serve food alongside drinks, and monitor consumption to prevent excessive drinking.

Be Mindful of Allergies

Before serving food, check with guests about any allergies they may have. Clearly label dishes and keep allergen-free options separate to avoid cross-contamination.

Driving & Transportation Safety

Plan a Sober Ride

Never drink and drive. Arrange for designated drivers, use ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft, or take advantage of public transportation options to get home safely.

Stay Alert on the Roads

Even if you’re sober, be cautious while driving. Other drivers may be impaired, so stay vigilant, drive defensively, and report dangerous behavior to authorities if necessary.

Park Smart

If you're heading to a party or a bar, park in well-lit areas and avoid leaving valuables visible in your car. Always lock your vehicle to prevent break-ins.

Cyber & Online Safety

Watch Out for Scams

Super Bowl season attracts scammers selling counterfeit tickets and running fake betting schemes. Purchase tickets and place bets only through reputable sources to avoid fraud.

Protect Your Wi-Fi

If you’re hosting a party, consider setting up a guest Wi-Fi network to keep your main connection secure. This prevents unauthorized access to your personal devices and information.

Be Cautious with Social Media

While it’s fun to share your Super Bowl experience, avoid posting live locations or detailed plans publicly to protect your privacy and home security.

What Time Does the Super Bowl Start?
