Title:                            Controller                                                                   

Reports To:                 Chief Financial Officer                      


Primary function:

Oversee the development and administration of the accounting systems, practices, controls and procedures that conform to accepted accounting practices and reflect operating costs, budgets and profitability.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  2. Prepare timely and comprehensive reports including analysis of financial data, statements, audits, sales, earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results.
  3. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
  4. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics for NetOne.
  5. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  6. Provide for a system of management job costing reports.
  7. Provide high level of service for all other departments.
  8. Use available software for all aspects of financial reporting & accounting purposes.
  9. Act as liaison for external relationships (vendor & customer issues).
  10. Participate on the Leadership Team.
  11. Champion Strategic Planning goals for Key Success Factor – Stay Financially Strong.
  12. Assist CFO with projects such as acquisitions & mergers.
  13. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
  14. Manage accounting staff for all accounting transactions:
    • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
    • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
    • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
    • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
    • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
    • Maintain the chart of accounts
    • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
    • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Required Background and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance
  • Five to ten years of progressive experience with small to mid-size company or division.
  • Strong familiarity with software systems. Experience implementing accounting software helpful.
  • Strong supervisory and motivation skills required.
  • Ability to assume increased responsibilities.
  • Strong negotiating skills.

  12. Basic business knowledge and strong understanding of DSS operations. Must understand business fundamentals, a company's basic operations and its business model. 
  13. Strong work ethic. Must be willing to work long hours when necessary, processing a tremendous amount of work product while paying extreme attention to detail.
